I am concerned...

"He then didn't even let me test drive the 2002 Jeep until after I filled out the paper work"

So, what exactly did you fill out? Are you entirely sure that you haven't already bought the car? No one has you fill anything out before a test drive.

Always walk away and be in control. Here's a great series on what goes on inside a dealership (see link)

As an ex- store manager ( changed careers after 15 years) I would always interview and hire a more professional individual. You bring to the table; Customer Service Skills, experience completing task on a timely bases, responsibility in meeting your schedule requirements ( coming to work on time). I think most of all you need the money and chances are you will accepted the hours needed to fullfill the requirements.

My answer is YES send in a resume.

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. More details and links to relevant websites available at http://tinyurl.com/rndxq

There is a positive correlation between one's credit score and how responsible they are. The idea is that people with higher credit scores are a little more likely to show up for work on time, focus on their jobs, etc. And you see, maintaining good credit requires timeliness of paying bills and focusing on keeping track of all your bills.

Salaries and cost of living in some of the more "metropolitan" southern and southwestern states are similar to Wisconsin. Specifically:

Virginia, NC (central part of the state), Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Georgia (Atlanta, specifically), Tennessee (Knoxville, Memphis, and Chattanooga), northern Florida (Jacksonville and Tallahassee)

You might want to check it out on Salary.com. That might give you some kind of guidance.

In middle GA, the salary for a locally privately owned dealership is around $35K-$40K per year. A big dealership like Ford or Chevy can fetch you about $40k with bonuses that can get you a total of $50-$60K. You have to be able to sell the higher interest rate loans to your customers and extended warranty packages to get the bonuses.

Size of the dealership is a factor. Location in the US is a factor.

You would probably have a far greater response by listing your job openings with an employment board:

http://www.careerbuilder.com

Hope this helps!

First, do you have any car sales experience? That is where you should begin. 95% or more of finance managers sold cars before moving into the F&I office. After you prove yourself by selling cars for a while the next move is usually to the finance dept.

It is a very good paying job, but with that comes alot of stress. You work alot of hours and you are expected to make the dealership alot of money. You have pressure from your managers to get people financed that have rotten credit, pressure to sell warranties, pressure to do your job fast and correct with no errors. You have to build relationships with banks to help you get your deals financed. That is one of the most important parts of the job! If banks don't like you you are doomed because they will never help you if they don't like you.

Above all, you have to be honest. The days of high pressure sales to the customer are over. You have to disclose all info to the customer and show them why the products you sell will help them.
